Madison aspires to create a more sustainable future for our oceans and society through policy initiatives and environmental advocacy work. She was drawn to partner with Balloon Mission after admiring the organization's widespread, upstream efforts and achievements to raise awareness of this niche item, an often-overlooked category of single-use plastic pollution. As a youth environmental advocate herself, she especially looks forward to educating and engaging the next generation of changemakers, emphasizing the importance of responsible balloon practices and sustainable celebrations.
One of Madison's key initiatives is helping Balloon Mission become a hub for educational legislative resources on everything related to “balloons." She's compiling policy research on bans on balloon releases and sales and converting these findings into easily digestible content for the public, lawmakers, and lobbyists on Balloon Mission's Legislative page.
